The Thathera

Our Story

Revival of a Dying Craft

Pracheen was born from a mission to revive India's only UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage listed metal craft - the Thathera tradition of Jandiala Guru, Punjab. For centuries, Thathera artisans have been shaping copper, brass, and bronze into vessels of extraordinary beauty and function.

As modern manufacturing threatened to erase this ancient art, we stepped in to bridge the gap - connecting master craftsmen directly with conscious consumers who value heritage, quality, and wellness.

Our Mission

We believe in the ancient Indian wisdom of Ayurvedic metals. Copper for water purification, brass for naturally non-stick cooking, and bronze (Kansa) for eating - each metal serves a purpose rooted in centuries of scientific understanding.

By creating a sustainable market for these products, we ensure fair compensation for artisan families, preserve a UNESCO-listed craft tradition, and bring the wellness benefits of traditional metals into modern kitchens worldwide.
